Nights that never end, transgressive parties with no inhibitions, music and drinks: Mykonos nightlife is a legend to be experienced at all hours. The Cycladic island maintains its status as the nightlife capital of Europe, with an ever-changing scene that constantly presents exciting new things alongside the great classics.
Many things have changed since Mykonos was the hippy paradise of the 1970s, but two constants have remained: the beauty of the scenery and the beach parties. These two elements combined have made the fortune of Mykonos, which over the years has built a solid and now unshakeable reputation as the best Greek island for nightlife.
Mykonos’ nightlife is timeless and takes place between beach bars, disco-pubs and mega-discos. Gone are the days of the hippies, Mykonos today is expensive and chic: expect to pay between EUR 18 and EUR 25 for a cocktail in the most exclusive clubs, while entry to the top discos can go up to EUR 50-60 on high season weekends. The high prices do not seem to scare off the droves of young people who flock here from all over Europe every summer for a fun-filled holiday.
Mykonos’ nightlife has been enriched in recent years with new concepts that mix cutting-edge technology and Greek tradition, while keeping the uncompromisingly fun experience at the centre. If you come in search of movida, you too will not regret the money spent.
The nerve centre of Mykonos nightlife is Paradise Beach with the adjacent Super Paradise Beach, located along the south coast of the island. At both beaches you will find an uninterrupted line-up of bars and clubs packed at all hours of the day, including the island’s most popular discos and beach clubs.
The parties at Paradise Beach start daily at 4pm and continue uninterruptedly until the crack of dawn. The formula is tried and tested: aperitif at sunset, pre-party on the beach, transfer to the main discos for the after-party, which continues until 7-8am.
Of the two beaches, Super Paradise Beach is considered the most transgressive and is a popular destination for LGBTQ+ tourists. It has completely renovated its offer with new art installations and a state-of-the-art sound system. Another popular beach for beach parties is Psarou, in the area of Platis Gialos in the south-west of the island, where the most exclusive clubs frequented by VIPs and celebrities are concentrated.
The Chora (the old town of Mykonos Town) is the other area with a high concentration of nightclubs. You won’t find the mega-discos of Paradise Beach, but you can spend long nights of fun moving between pubs, disco bars, traditional taverns and elegant lounge bars in the maze of Cycladic alleys.
The Little Venice area, in particular, has established itself as the exclusive aperitif district, with cocktail bars offering breathtaking sunset views and prices that reflect the premium location.
Nightlife hours in Mykonos follow a particular rhythm: beach clubs open at 10 am for the day party, discos from 11.30 pm to 7.30 am, but the clubs do not fill up until 2 am. Admission to the top clubs costs EUR 30-60, while many beach bars offer free admission with a mandatory drink.

The most famous disco in Mykonos is Cavo Paradiso, a temple of European nightlife with an area of over 3000 square metres. Open since 1993, it continues to host the best international DJs with a calendar of events that includes names such as Tiësto, Carl Cox and Martin Garrix. The rooftop terrace offers a spectacular view of the Aegean Sea that becomes an unforgettable experience at sunrise.
Voted #14 best club in the world by DJ Mag, Paradise Beach Club is the real beating heart of Paradise Beach. With three lounges, a swimming pool and fireworks displays, it hosts daily parties from 4pm with day parties that gradually turn into nights of pure energy. Sunbed prices start from 25€ for two sun loungers and an umbrella.
Considered the most alternative and unconventional club in Mykonos, it attracts an eclectic international clientele. It introduced the ‘Sunset Rituals’ concept with live art performances accompanying evening DJ sets.
Scorpios (Paraga beach) represents the evolution of the beach club: by day an oasis of relaxation with boho-chic architecture, from 6.30 pm it transforms with the famous ‘Sunset Rituals’ featuring live musicians and international DJs. It is considered the most Instagram-friendly club on the island.
Probably the most glamorous beach bar in Mykonos (Psarou beach), frequented by international celebrities. Famous for its vintage champagne and luxurious service, it offers an exclusive membership card for VIP customers.
The most popular nightclub in Mykonos Town is this historic disco bar in the centre of Chora that has been open since 1978. With two bars and a dance floor, it offers a mix of dance, rock and commercial music. It is the ideal spot to start the evening before moving on to the beach clubs.
One of the most exciting newcomers in recent years, VOID stands out for its ultra-modern design and state-of-the-art sound technology. Located in the centre of Mykonos, it hosts world-class DJs and offers a unique sensory experience with light and sound effects that make it one of the most innovative venues on the island.
Straight from the streets of London, Toy Room brings a touch of British luxury to Greek nightlife. Specialising in hip hop and R&B, with a limited capacity of 180 people, it guarantees an exclusive and refined atmosphere.
If you don’t like wild crowds or want to slow down the pace of your holiday for an evening, here are some good alternatives:
An exclusive bar on the seafront in Little Venice, with a sophisticated décor that reinvents the classic Cycladic style in a contemporary way. It has introduced a cocktail menu designed by international mixologists, with exclusive creations using local Greek botanicals. The minimum charge is €60, but the seaside location justifies the price.
Another historic waterfront bar in Little Venice, it features a relaxed ambience and beautiful sea-view windows. It has become famous for its photographable sunsets and international clientele of influencers and travel bloggers.
A chic bar at the Belvedere Hotel perfect for a special evening, famous for its elegant style and creative cocktails. The poolside lounge offers a more intimate atmosphere than the large beach clubs.
The season starts with the opening parties of the main clubs. Prices are lower (cocktails 15-18€, admissions 20-30€) and the atmosphere more relaxed. It is the ideal time to enjoy the clubs without the summer crowds.
The peak of the season with international guest DJs every night. Maximum prices (cocktails 20-25€, admissions up to 60€), but also maximum energy. Reservations required for tables and bottle service.
The closing parties at the end of the season are often the most spectacular. The atmosphere is more nostalgic, prices become affordable again and there is a ‘last call’ air that makes everything more intense.
