Kos Climate in: best time to visit, weather by month, temperature

The island of Kos enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate. Temperatures during the summer are high but never torrid, while winters are particularly mild and pleasant.

When to go to Kos?

Kos has a wonderful climate that makes it an ideal year-round holiday destination.

Summer holidays on Kos, the third largest island in the Dodecanese, start at Orthodox Easter and last until late autumn. On Kos, there is never a shortage of sun and heat!

Many tourists choose to visit Kos in May or October, when the days are warm and sunny and the beaches are less crowded than in July or August.

From May to October temperatures are high. In July and August, average temperatures are around 35 degrees, in June around 32, in September around 30 and in May and October around 26.

If you want to explore the wonderful tourist sites on Kos, avoid the warmer months. The best time for culture lovers to visit the island is spring, although the mild winter temperatures attract many tourists.
