Avlaki Beach is one of the hidden gems of Corfu’s north-eastern coastline, located in the unspoilt natural area of Erimitis, just 2 kilometres from the lively village of Kassiopi. This beautiful white pebble beach stands out for its quiet and reserved atmosphere, providing the perfect alternative to the island’s more crowded beaches.
Avlaki’s uniqueness lies in its privileged location within the Erimitis peninsula, a protected natural area characterised by verdant hills, wetlands and secluded bays overlooking the Albanian coastline. The beach stretches for about 500 metres in a sheltered bay that offers protection from the winds thanks to a small eastern peninsula.
Avlaki Beach is awarded the Blue Flag for the quality of its crystal-clear waters and sustainable environmental management. The beach consists of two distinct bays: the main, larger and better-equipped one, and a smaller, wilder twin beach that can be reached by a pleasant five-minute walk through the Mediterranean maquis.
What makes Avlaki truly special is the perfect balance of modern facilities and unspoilt natural beauty. The lush Mediterranean vegetation descending from the surrounding hills creates natural shady areas, while the clear waters and gently sloping seabed make it ideal for families with children and snorkellers.
Avlaki Beach is located approximately 36 kilometres from Corfu Town and can be easily reached by car via the Tzavrou-Kassiopi-Sidari road 2217. The easiest way is to take the exit for Agnitsini and follow the signs for Erimitis until you reach the beach.
The beach has a large free car park located directly behind the bay, which is a considerable advantage compared to other beaches on the island. During the high season, parking is also possible along the road that runs alongside the beach.
From Corfu Airport, the drive takes about 45 minutes. Those who prefer to hire a car can easily reach Avlaki by following the signs to Kassiopi and then to Erimitis.
Public transport to Avlaki is limited. The nearest bus stop is in Kassiopi, served by the green lines A4 and A12 that connect the village with Corfu town. From Kassiopi, you can reach Avlaki by taxi (about 5 minutes) or by a 25-30 minute walk along the coastal road.
