Once in Volos, from the central bus station it is possible to take connections to other places in central Greece or to the port, from where ferries to the Sporades islands depart.
The price for a ride from the airport to the centre of Volos is about 35-40€, while a ride to other locations such as Agria or Portaria can cost 45-50€. During the tourist season it is advisable to book a taxi in advance, especially if arriving at peak times or in conjunction with other flights.

Agria, a pretty seaside resort a few kilometres from Volos, is about 30 km from the airport. The taxi ride takes about 35 minutes and costs around 40-45€. By public transport, you need to arrive in Volos and then take a local bus or taxi to Agria (about 10 minutes from Volos).
Alykes beach is only 6 km from the airport and is the nearest beach resort. The taxi ride takes just 10 minutes and costs about 15-20€. There are no direct public transport connections, so the options are taxi or car rental.
