The all-inclusive allows you to save money because you will not have to pay any extras: the initial hotel rate already includes meals and all drinks at the bar. A drink by the pool? An aperitif to admire the sunset? A cocktail to end the evening on a high note? Why not! Everything is already paid for anyway.
Pay attention to just one detail. For some hotels the all-inclusive formula is standard, i.e. this rate is applied to all guests. Others, on the other hand, allow a choice between different formulas: usually b&b, i.e. only with breakfast, half board and all inclusive.
Is it worth a flight plus hotel package in Greece? Sometimes yes, sometimes no: in fact, this formula does not always allow you to save money. It depends a lot on the discount applied to the standard rates for those who buy the package instead of booking flight and hotel separately.
The advice is to always have a look at the flight prices and then at the hotel prices to assess whether the package deal is worthwhile.
Price comparison is easy when the package clearly indicates the name of the hotel; in some cases, however, for which we generally speak of a ‘roulette formula’, the package does not indicate a precise hotel but only a reference category. In this case you will know that you have booked a 5, 4, 3 or 2-star hotel but you will only find out the name of the hotel a few days before departure.
